Oliz Store at Durbar Marg

KATHMANDU, DEC 15 -

K-town now boasts a new destination for gadget lovers. Oliz Store, the IT wing of the Jyotishree Group, has opened a second Oliz outlet on Durbar Marg, Kathmandu’s high-end shopping street. Apart from products from Apple, the newly opened outlet features a wide range of IT products and accessories. The Jyotishree Group also maintains a showroom at Star Mall, Putali Sadak.

The store offers products from brands like Moshi, iHome, Speck, Spigen SGP, Powermat, JCPAL, harmon/Kardon, JBL, Sherwood, Xtreamer, KEF, Pioneer, TTAF, AKG, Monster and Beats, among others. Oliz is the authorised distributor and seller of all these brands.

“We have set up a new outlet to cater to the growing demand for premium IT products in the domestic market,” said Lokesh Oli, managing director of Oliz Store. “Being in the market since the past two years, we have attracted a huge number of gadget aficionados, and the new store is likely to further this trend.”

Spread over an area of 4,000 sq ft, the state-of-the-art Oliz showroom offers a touch-and-feel experience to visitors. “Visitors can simply drop in and use the device before making up their mind to purchase it,” Oli said. Products ranging from Macbooks to iPads and all-in-one PCs to sound systems can be used by visitors to the store. Jyotishree has invested around Rs 3.5 million, excluding the stock, to set up this new showroom.

According to Oli, the store’s inventory consists of Moshi products ranging in price from Rs 1,000 to Rs 6,000, iHome products from Rs 1,550 to Rs 35,000, Speck products from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,500, Spigen SGP from Rs 1,500 to Rs 6,500, Powermat from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000, JCPAL from Rs 1,500 to Rs 50,000, Harmon/Kardon from Rs 30,000 to Rs 100,000 and JBL from Rs 10,000 to Rs 205,000.

Similarly, products from Sherwood are available for Rs 20,000 to Rs 55,000, Xtreamer for Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, KEP for Rs 28,000 to Rs 10 million, Pioneer for Rs 38,000 to Rs 100,000, TTAF for Rs 1,000 to Rs 50,000, AKG for Rs 7,500 to Rs 17,500, Monster for Rs 2,500 to Rs 50,000 and Beats for Rs 14,000 to Rs 58,000.

As the store features branded and genuine products which are a bit more expensive than duplicate products available in the market, it is an ideal destination for people who are more concerned about quality than price. “Some of our products have a very niche market in Nepal. But we believe in creating a market and hence have featured these products,” Oli said. Since its opening on Wednesday, the store has reported very good footfall, Oli said. “Not only local gadget fans, but foreigners who own Apple products too are checking out our offerings,” he said.

What makes shopping at Oliz advisable is that it is one of the four authorized sellers of Apple products, and it offers a global warranty on all its products and services. Apart from iPhone and iPad, all the other products at the store come with a one-year global warranty. Oliz Store is open from 10 am to 8 pm on working days and from 12 noon on Saturdays.
