Rs 20.6 million 'robbed' from Tulsipur bank

DANG, DEC 23 -

A gang of three robbed around Rs 20.64 million from the Tulsipur branch of Bank of Kathmandu on Friday evening. Police said bank manager Rishi Kailash Shrestha told them that the group entered the bank on the pretext of depositing cash at 6:30pm, took staffers under control at gunpoint and decamped with the amount.

Police reached the bank two hours after. Superintendent of Police Lokendra Malla said the case was suspicious as even the CCTV cameras and computer system were damaged. "Statements of bank employees vary," he said.

Meanwhile, a team including the central security chief of Bank of Kathmandu reached the site to investigate the matter. Malla said they are investigating into the matter.
